NOLES:

This poor dog was found as a stray close to Orlando, FL in Seminole county.

The man who found him took him to the animal shelter.

The wonderful workers at this shelter took pity on him and immediately he was sent to Lake Mary Veterinary Clinic.

He went through surgery to remove the chain collar. He was put on antibiotics and pain killer meds.

It is impossible to imagine the pain this dog endured. His open wound under the chin was too deep for him to have been able to swallow normally. Moving his head from side to side, or up and down had to be very painful.

Animal Services were unable to locate an owner. We wished they had. and had him/her charged for animal abuse.

BUT, I am glad they did not because this dog would have been held at the shelter until all legal matters had been resolved.

Mary Beth of the Seminole County Animal Shelter sent an email to me, Grace Acosta. She shared these pictures and I immediately told her that I would pick him up.

Noles was very shy, he did not trust the people when he first met them. He bonded with a shelter worker named Amber. She was the one who introduced Noles to Grace at the shelter.

She asked Noles to jump in a crate in my van and Noles did without a problem.

Before I left the shelter we named him NOLES for the Florida county where he was found.

Noles has been at my home since then.

He was taken to our veterinarian in Alachua, FL. He is on antibiotics, no more pain meds. His open wound is cleaned and medication applied to the wounds twice a day.

Noles is scheduled to be neutered on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.

His wounds are closing and one more week you will not be able to see what happened to this dog.

HERE COMES THE GOOD NEWS!

NOLES HAS A GREAT HOME WAITING FOR HIM!

Pati Colvin of Gainesville, FL had been looking for a companion to her other rescue (also named Grace).

She and Grace came to meet Noles. These two dogs were made for each other. Grace goes to dog parks and plays with all dogs there. Noles, is young and also extremely playful.

After the brief introduction, the fun play time was over, Noles came to Pati and said,

"Yes, I like 'this' Grace and I also like you very much".

Noles leaned against Pati and kissed her.

This is a story made in heaven, no doubt.

BELIEVE!!!
