Dixie
is a 3 year-old rottweiler with a
gentle nature. She belonged to my son. I
actually raised her at least half of
that time since his business took him
out of town for lengthy periods of time.
She has not been raised to be
aggressive. She has had all of her
shots, is spayed, and takes all
medications
necessary, such as heartworm, flea/tic
meds. She lives a cushy life on my
(hers) leather couch. She has been
obedience trained and follows meaningful
commands. Otherwise she does what she
wants. She is an excellent
watchdog. I am complemented on this all
the time by people who come to the door.
I let her run loose in the house most of
the time when I am away from the house.
She has a dog crate and will willingly
go in if I have service men working in
the house. She loves to swim in the pool
, ride in the truck, and play ball. She
socializes well with most other dogs.
She has been around young children
successfully under my son's supervision.
I have not exposed her to children
while she has been in my care. She has
free roaming privileges in a spacious
backyard. I don't leash walk her,
although she loves to take walks.
The reason I don't walk her is
because of my own health issues, not due
to her behavior. She is very smart, a
very good
companion, very protective. She
doesn't bite; I just give her lots
of things of her own to chew on. I
need to place her in a suitable home
because I am allergic to the dog hair
and I am away from the home on business
trips frequently.
