Latest UPDATE on BENJI ... October 2, 2018

I stopped by to see BENJI at Allan’s place - his trainer at K9 Off Leash. He has been there for 12 days already.

His 4 weeks of board/training at another kennel was finished on Sept 17th. Allan then decided to take him to his facility, which is a house setting, and gave BENJI more socialization with humans and dogs.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see him today.?  I can say I saw happiness in his eyes and his tail wags!

He was running, he was inside and outside with other dogs, he showed me his pen and sat on his bed, as if to say, this is my soft bed! He interacted with other dogs and was happy doing it.

I was truly amazed with this boy today, it? brought tears to my eyes.

But we need help to get him a great home soon. I cannot thank Allan enough for his help but I can’t ask more than what he already gave to us. The results of his work show the dedication he put into BENJI.

We need to raise money to continue helping this boy.

I cannot think of the possibility of him going back to a kennel setting and bringing back all those bad memories from his past.

He is ready! He needs love now!???

BENJI still uses an e-collar (electronic collar), just as a precaution, in case he needs to be corrected but he has been needing less and less correction as he learns to be the perfect companion.

He is a powerful dog, and until his owner and him build a strong bond, the e-collar is highly recommended.

K9 off leash will be available to train any new adopter, in a couple of hours, how to used the e-collar and how to handle BENJI.

BENJI'S ORIGINAL STORY:

Benji came to GGARR from Broward County Animal Control.

He was surrendered there by his owner who got divorced and neither one had the time for him.

He was very depressed and then a GGARR friend at the Shelter advised us they had a young Rottweiler and Grace asked me to go to evaluate him.

When I got there a Staff that just to work with him took him out to the yard area and he was playing and licking him, extremely friendly with that man, so I said YES.

He is a big boy and after getting to Mueller Animal Hospital his behavior changed, but day by day he is getting better and better.

He will be good in a home with no other dogs or children.  Need an experienced Rottweiler owner

Come to meet him.

He is a beauty.

Please, fill out an online adoption application and be approved to take him home!
